The Woodsman | Beard Balm

For the ones more at home in the cedars than the cities. The Woodsman is the brooding, woody one: oud, oakmoss, cedar, and leather, edged with dry pink pepper and deepened by tobacco and sandalwood. The balm underneath is the base we pour every time. Beeswax and stearic acid set the hold, tallow and shea butter soften coarse, wiry hair, and jojoba with sweet almond oil keep it light on the skin beneath.

Scent

Pink pepper opens it, dry and sharp. Oakmoss through the heart, green and damp. Oud, cedar, tobacco, leather, and warm sandalwood settle the base, smoke and timber and worn hide. The high beeswax keeps it quiet in the container; a little warmth opens it right up.

Hold

Medium, leaning conditioning. Enough to tame flyaways and hold a shape through the day without stiffening it up.

Weight

4 oz net weight in a black screw-top container.

What's not in it

No petrolatum, no mineral oil, no synthetic waxes. Those are the fillers that coat the hair instead of conditioning it. Just wax, butter, and oil.

Safety / Allergies

Contains beeswax and sweet almond oil (tree nut). Avoid if you have a tree nut allergy. Patch test if you have known sensitivities.

Use & Storage

Scrape a small amount from the container, warm between palms until soft, then work through the beard from root to tip. Doubles as a body balm. Store in a cool, dry place out of direct sun.
